  • Mischevious chickens

After a bit of a blogging holiday, I intended to write a puntastic post about how both this blog and the garden were “springing back to life”. My laziness at the end of last year – leaving lots of salad go to seed then not clearing away the pots – has meant that we’ve got [...] Related posts:

It’s two years to the day since we brought Lily-dog home so I asked her to put some words together about how she leads a simple, green & frugal life with us. Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Sorry, got a bit overexcited there, I do like meeting new people. Would you like me to bring [...] Related posts:

Lime the chicken has dramatic aspirations. “Why there no role for chicken in play? I could even play duck or turkey, I has range.” “Well, if not starring role, how about backstage? I helps with the page markers.” “Mmm, neon is my favourite flavour.” (In related news, today has been a lovely day and I [...] Related posts:

We’re trying to return to normality after a fortnight of poorliness – and I’m feeling very aware that time is marching on in the garden. • Five things for Friday

One – COLD! How can I start with anything other than a comment about the cold weather? I do like cold days – well, cold dry days like now, not cold wet ones – so I’m not complaining. The sun is shining – albeit weakly – and the sky is blue. I like wrapping up [...] Related posts:

No, I’m not going crazy. Honestly. It’s just I made a joke on Twitter last week about hearing about a lot of people struggling with January and suggesting we start 2012 again on 1st February – and the more I’ve thought about it in the intervening days, the more it’s made sense to me. ...a car. When she first told me this, I had no idea what an Airbag ecu was, never mind what it would involve to work with these things and we both laughed out loud at my ignorance. Since then, I have met her boyfriend many time since then and we get on very well indeed. He has tried to explain to me the concept of an Airbag ecu many times since then but I think he has given up lately as my eyes always glaze over when he brings the subject up. However, we do get on really well and often go out on double dates. He and my husband also get on very well and we do tend to have a really good laugh together. One of the most recent outings we went on was a really good evening. We went to see a comedian together and, I must say, he kept us all in stitches right throughout the evening. I have come to the conclusion ...

Houses For Sale Tottington - Houses For Sale Tottington
...t the moment as she has decided that she wants to move nearer to our parents. They live in Bury but my sister has been looking at houses for sale tottington as she thinks it is a slightly nicer area. Tottington is not far at all from Bury and, compared to where she is at the moment, Macclesfield, it will mean that she is within easy distance of them. The houses for sale tottington she has already seen have varied quite dramatically between very old and very new houses but the main thing she is looking for, as she said, is a house that has enough room for all of the family as well as a garden for the children to play in. She has now narrowed down her search to two properties and she really is not sure which one to go for. Both are equidistant from our parents` house and they both have enough room for the whole family to live in happi...

...toys and games for her birthday she also received a stunning Catimini outfit from her favourite Aunt. The outfit consisted of s beautiful Spirit City t-shirt that was accompanied by a charming little Spirit City skirt. On the t-shirt there were pretty types of flowers that our daughter simply adores. The skirt also had flowers upon it and it will mix and match with a number of tops that our toddler already has. When I look at the styles of the clothes that are available in the Catimini range I just want to open my wallet and buy them all. I can imagine they all look even more amazing when they are worn than they do when they are on show. I`ve clocked a set of leggings that would look fabulous with the t-shirt that was bought as the Birthday present. I`m not sure if I can resist the urge to buy ...

No Bute - No Bute
...riend owns a riding school and, I must say that she is doing very well in her business at the moment. She has always loved horses and so it seemed only natural that she should choose a career that had something to do with this. It really clicked into place with all of us when she chose to set up the riding school. However, one of the things we worried about was how much it cost to set up but she managed to get a loan from the bank and has not looked back. We were talking about her success the other day and she did say that one of the problems she found was lameness in her horses and how to treat it. Somebody had recommended a substance called bute and she had tried the local vet but they had no bute at all. As the week progressed, she found that more of her horses became lame and, although she tried a lot of places, there was no bute in any of them. Eventually, after there wer...

Bottle Can Holder - Bottle Can Holder
...lanche. Other bottles crash along the shelves and cans spill out onto the kitchen floor. It`s really annoying and no matter how many times that I try to stack the bottles or cans neatly they just seem to have a mind of their own. However, I think I have just found the ideal kitchen gadget that can help to keep my stress levels down. A Bottle Can holder can be bought and it`s a flexible rubber mat that sits snugly on the shelf of the fridge. Special grooves are fitted within the Bottle Can holder and you can lay cans or bottles directly upon them. The idea is you stack other containers on top of the lower ones and they remain securely in place. A fridge is the obvious place to put the Bottle Can holder but there are many places where this useful device can be used. Placed on a worktop it can make a trendy wine r...
